Juniper Haven Farm

Juniper Haven Wensleydales
Located in beautiful Central Oregon, Juniper Haven Farm provides the patience, perfection and determination needed to produce healthy, happy sheep.

We raise registered Wensleydale % breeding stock with lovely fleeces.

Wensleydale Sheep

Originally from England, the Wensleydale did not exist in purebred form in the United States until 2007, when the first "purebred" lambs were born. Using A.I. (artificial insemination),  the American "upgrade" program is in the process of "re-creating" the breed here in North America. To be considered purebred, sheep must be 96% Wensleydale or above.

Prize-winning Wensleydale from Juniper Haven FarmJust six years ago, Juniper Haven Farm embarked on the Wensleydale "upgrade" program. The percentage Wensleydales on these pages were born and raised here on our farm, through the A.I. upgrade program. Our Grand Champion sheep and fleeces prove that our hard work with these beautiful animals is paying off. Visit our farm and see for yourself.

Scrapie Program

Juniper Haven is enrolled in the Voluntary Scrapie Flock Certification Program (VSFCP). This program is older—and more demanding—than the "mandatory" system that all sheep producers must comply with. Enrolled flocks must document all sheep, and record animals that join or leave the flock. In addition there is a yearly inspection by a federal veterinarian.
